The Garden Theatre will stage a special performance of its upcoming "Pippin" production with all proceeds benefiting The Center Orlando.

The Center Orlando is a nonprofit community center that aims to promote and empower the LGBTQ+ community and its allies through advocacy, education, information and support. The organization believes in creating a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in a space that reflects the community and the people within it.

"I am excited to work with Garden Theatre," The Center's CEO George Wallace said. "The Garden always produces top quality productions, and 'Pippin' is a favorite in our community. I always appreciate raising funds and awareness, and the funds raised will go toward The Center's Journey Forward, our capital campaign.”

The benefit performance will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Garden Theatre, 160 W. Plant St., Winter Garden.

“At Garden Theatre, we are committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels seen, heard and valued," Garden Theatre COO Keith Davenport said. “We aim to work with and connect with communities that share our dedication to diversity and inclusivity, ensuring that our programs and performances reflect the rich tapestry of experiences and identities that make up our world.”

"Pippin" will run from Aug. 23 through Sept. 15.
