Windermere football player C.J. Bronaugh has announced his commitment to play his college ball for coach Matt Rhule at Nebraska.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback is a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite, and chose the Cornhuskers over the heap of Power 4 offers he’s received — including UCF, FSU, Penn State and Tennessee.

In the junior’s first season as a Wolverine, transferring from Foundation Academy, Bronaugh played in seven games for Windermere coach Riki Smith, missing the opening games of the season due to an injury. Despite the shortened season, the ball-hawking defensive back still managed to catch six interceptions — the most of any player in West Orange and Southwest Orange County — with three of those picks being returned for touchdowns.

Beyond the stats and helping Windermere finish the season with an undefeated record, Bronaugh was also selected to the All-Metro West first team and All-Orange Observer first team.
