Windermere High boys basketball player T.J. Drain scored 39 points in the Wolverines’ 77-67 road win over rivals Olympia High, setting a new program record for most points scored in a game and a personal career-high.

The 6-foot-8 forward, signed to play college hoops at Liberty University next season, is starting his senior season in similar form to where he left off in 2023-24 as the Wolverines (7-1) leader in points per game (19.8), rebounds (8.6) and blocks (3.2).

So far in the 2024-25 season, this new-look Windermere team — with Drain leading the way yet again — has made a compelling case that it’s the area’s top team by not only winning seven consecutive games but also by topping the three of the area’s four Class 7A teams; Ocoee Knights (3-5), West Orange Warriors (2-8) and Olympia Titans (4-5).

Drain and the Wolverines will look to extend their streak to eight wins at home against the Wekiva Mustangs (2-5) Tuesday, Dec. 17. Tipoff is for 7 p.m.
