Black Bean Deli is replacing NY Bagel Deli & Pizza on Plant Street in downtown Winter Garden.

Black Bean Deli is an authentic Cuban cafe serving cuisine such as café con leche y pan tostado, empanadas, bistec, yuca frita and sopa de pollo.

The eatery currently has two other locations in Winter Park and Mills 50, respectively, and also is known for its catering services.

Black Bean Deli is owned by Andres Corton.

"As the visionary, culture director and creative force, I want to preserve Cuban traditions through our food, coffee and experience blending abuela’s kitchen with timeless design," Corton shares on Black Bean Deli's website. "I want to build restaurants in repurposed buildings that mean something to the neighborhoods of yesterday. My vision for aesthetics are the same as for preserving tradition: Respect the past (and) embrace the future. My company is ethical and wonderful and is always striving to present our tradition in better settings, with better practices and better resources."

The new Winter Garden location at 126 W. Plant Street currently has no estimated opening date.

NY BAGEL DELI & PIZZA

NY Bagel Deli & Pizza took to social media to announce its closing Thursday, Sept. 14.

"To all our friends, it's with a heavy heart we post our Winter Garden location has closed due to rent going to a rate we just can't afford to pay," business representatives wrote on social media.

The restaurant, which opened in 2020, was co-owned by father-daughter duo Lonny and Kayla McDougal.

Before being Ny Bagel Deli & Pizza, the space was occupied by Eggs & Oats.
