Pooch pizzazz: Groomers create art at freestyling competition

Woof Gang Academy of Grooming and Pets Playground Grooming School cohosted the first Freestylin’ Grooming Competition recently at Woof Gang in Ocoee, and 35 competitors from the United States and Mexico were in the running for the $10,000 grand prize.

Winners were Lindsey Dicken, first place; Antonio Flores, second, $2,000; Janna DeBey, third, $1,000; Lori Craig, fourth, $500; and Courtney Crowley, fifth, $250. An Award of Merit was presented to Leslie Anthony.

Niira Grooming, Groomers Choice and Bio-Groom sponsored the event; vendors included Pet Store Direct, Niira Grooming, Jodi Murphy Grooming Products and Kenchii Pet Grooming. Half of the registration proceeds were donated to Poodle & Pooch Rescue, which also held an adoption during the event.
