Oakland adding stop signs

In an effort to enhance safety and traffic management, the town of Oakland is installing new all-way stop signs at key intersections along Oakland Avenue. The stops at Pollard Street and Winters Landing Drive will allow for safe golf cart crossing on Oakland Avenue, and a third stop at Hull Island Drive will allow drivers to safely exit onto Oakland Avenue.

The signs will be installed at Hull Island by February and at Pollard and at Winters Landing by spring. Upon installation, drivers will be further alerted with road signage to ensure a safe traffic pattern change.
