Streetlights being added to dark roadways

Orange County has a plan in place to install additional lighting throughout District 1.

Many of the dark roads in West Orange and Southwest Orange County will be getting streetlights thanks to Orange County, which last year passed a $55 million transportation safety program.

These are the streets that will be receiving lighting within a four-year time period:

• Avalon Road from Sunridge Boulevard to the Florida’s Turnpike and from the Osceola County Line to Egret Hammock Drive

• Bethune Avenue from East Bay to East Maple streets

• Beulah Road from West Colonial Drive to Beard Road

• East Crown Point Road from State Road 429 to Crown Point Cross Road

• Hempel Avenue from State Road 408 to Lake Nally Woods Drive, Lake Nally Woods to Farmwood Circlend Sixth Street to Windy Ridge Road

• Maguire Road from Parkridge-Gotha Road to Wonder Lane

• Overstreet Road from Winter Garden Vineland Road to Penkridge lane and Londale Boulevard to Ficquette Road

• Phil Ritson Way from Southern Martin Street to Summerlake Groves

• Roberson Road from Wesmere Parkway to Windermere Road

• Seidel Road from Summerlake Park Boulevard to Avalon Road

• Summerlake Park Boulevard from Black Quill Drive to Ficquette Road

• Tilden Road from Winter Garden Vineland to Avalon roads

• Tiny Road from Tilden Road to Bridgewater Crossings Boulevard

• Turkey Lake Road from Lakewood Plaza Drive to Majorca Place

• West Lake Butler Road from Summerport Lane to East of Tildens Grove Boulevard

• Warrior Road – Windermere Road to State Road 429

• Westover Roberts Road from South Apopka Vineland Road to Hempel Avenue

• Wilkening Farm Road from Woodlawn Cemetery to South Apopka Vineland roads

• Windermere Road from Roberson to Maguire roads

• Windy Ridge Road from South Apopka Vineland Road to Hempel Avenue.
