Single-car crash claims driver’s life

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car crash that occurred just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, near Epcot Center Drive and Buena Vista Drive. The driver, a 23-year-old woman from Winter Garden whose name has not been released by officials, was killed in the crash.

According to FHP, the 2024 Hyundai Tucson was traveling northbound on Epcot Center Drive when the driver ran off the road and into the grass median. She continued traveling northbound in the median and crashed into a traffic sign support pole, officials said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
