Teen girl dies after tree falls on car on Reams Road

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at about 6:49 p.m. Thursday, June 6, on Reams Road south of Summerlake Boulevard.

A 14-year-old girl died after a tree fell onto the car in which she was riding.

According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at about 6:49 p.m. Thursday, June 6, on Reams Road south of Summerlake Boulevard. A tree on the west shoulder of Reams fell onto the roof of a 2011 Lexus. The girl was riding in the rear right passenger seat. She was transported to Orlando Health — Horizon West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 40-year-old woman, and another passenger, a 12-year-old boy, were not injured.

The crash blocked Reams Road in both directions.

The crash remains under investigation.
