Ocoee police identify occupants of fatal car crash

The single-vehicle crash happened around 2:21 a.m. Saturday, June 15, on Ocoee Apopka Road.

The Ocoee Police Department has identified the two people who were involved in a single-vehicle crash around 2:21 a.m. Saturday, June 15, on Ocoee Apopka Road at Summershade Drive.

Pronounced dead at the scene were the driver, 22-year-old Alexis Craig, of Apopka, and the passenger, 30-year-old Andre Johnson, of Orlando.

According to police, the vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, was traveling northbound on Ocoee Apopka Road when it left the road and struck a tree and brick wall.

When police arrived on the scene, the car was engulfed in flames and initial attempts to extinguish the fire were unsuccessful. The fire was put out by the Ocoee Fire Department.

The Ocoee Police Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating the cause of this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ocoee Police Department at (407) 905-3160.
