Orange County Utilities has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for 4,924 customers in the area near the intersection of Seidel Road and Avalon Road.
OCU sent out an advisory to its customers saying an interruption in water service occurred in the area due to a water main break.
The advisory is for both residential and commercial customers.
According to the advisory, there is no evidence of contamination of the public water supply, but as a precaution OCU is recommending customers in the area boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes before use.
OCU said the water is safe for bathing, laundering and other non-consumptive uses. Customers in the area should continue this precaution for a minimum of two days while OCU collects and analyzes samples.
OCU customers will be notified by the company when this precaution is no longer in effect.
If customers have any questions or need more information, they can call the Orange County Utilities Water Division at (407) 254-9850 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or call (407) 836-2777 all other hours.
