One dead, another severely injured in two-vehicle crash on Schofield Road

Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the fatal crash in Lake County that occurred early Wednesday morning.

One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on Schofield Road, west of Five Mile Road in Lake County, occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning. 

The 52-year-old male from Clermont, who was the driver of vehicle one — a 2018 Nissan Maxima — was pronounced dead at the scene. The 39-year-old male driver of vehicle two — a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee — from Orlando, was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center. 

Florida Highway Patrol troopers are currently on the scene investigating the crash and there is currently a roadblock near the accident on Schofield Road.
