Orange County Parks & Recreation hosting Movie in the Park

Orange County's Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Movie in the Park event in the Horizon West area to kick off the weekend. 

The organization will show Illumination's "Migration" movie shortly after 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Independence Park, which is located at 5849 New Independence Parkway, Winter Garden.

There also will be family-fun yard games available to play before the start of the movie. 

"Migration" follows the story of a family of mallards who try to convince their overprotective father to go on a vacation of a lifetime and attempt to migrate from New England through New York City to Jamaica.

The movie is rated PG and is about one-and-a-half hours long. 

Attendees are suggested to bring lawn chairs and snacks, although food trucks also may be available for small bites and drinks. 

No alcohol is allowed in the park, and no pets are allowed in the viewing area.
