Chi-Kin has opened its doors in the Horizon West area.

The eatery celebrated its soft opening Oct. 31.

The new, popular Korean fried chicken concept on Mills 50 has taken the spot left vacant by BurgerFi in the Windermere Village Plaza, which is adjacent to Windermere High School, at 5845 Winter Garden-Vineland Road, Suite 100.

The first Chi-Kin opened in 2019 on Mills Avenue. The Horizon West spot is the second location.

Chi-Kin makes everything in-house from scratch, including the flour, sides and sauces.

Each piece of chicken is double-fried, and the menu includes options such as chicken wings and tenders, bulgogi waffle fries, Bibim Bowls, and the Chi-Kin Sammy. The eatery also caters to all dietary preferences, offering an array of vegan and vegetarian-friendly options.

The location is starting with only serving beer and wine, but in the future, owner Hoi Nguyen hopes to turn the spot into a Korean sports bar.

Nguyen also is one of the masterminds behind Orlando eateries King Bao and Poke Hana.
