The First Academy’s Sulexy Falcon, a junior shortstop for the Lady Royals softball team, has announced her commitment to play college ball at Florida International.

“I’m so blessed to announce my D-I commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Florida International University,” Falcon said in a social media post. “First, I (want to) thank God for helping me achieve my dream, being there every step of the way and always protecting me. … I (want to) thank my family for supporting me throughout this whole experience … I (want to) thank my siblings for supporting me through this process. I (want to) thank my mom for supporting me and being there every step of the way and believing (in) me from the very beginning. Lastly, I (want to) thank my dad for getting me (into) and teaching me the sport I love. He’s always pushed me so hard because he knew how much I love the game. I (want to) thank him for being there every single step of the way. I couldn’t have done this without my dad.”

As just a sophomore in the spring 2024 season, Falcon was a force for TFA from the batter’s box — leading the Royals in hits with 31, runs batted in with 23 and stolen bases with 18; to go along with her .383 batting average and 25 runs scored.
