OCPS schools closed Wednesday, Thursday

All after-school activities except after-school childcare will be canceled beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Orange County Public Schools is closing schools and facilities Wednesday, Oct. 9, and Thursday, Oct. 10, because of Hurricane Milton’s predicted path, but officials are continuing to monitor and track the storm.

Based on the latest forecast, all after-school activities will be canceled beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8, with the exception of after-school childcare.

Some schools will be used as shelters.

Any decision on schools for Friday, Oct. 11, will be determined by the impact on Orange County. OCPS will communicate all additional updates with families and employees through Connect Orange phone calls/emails/text messages, posts to OCPS social media pages and on ocps.net.
