Seminole attire on display at heritage museum

Experience the Native American culture through design and meet several members of the Seminole Tribe.

The Winter Garden Heritage Foundation has opened a new exhibition and will host a special reception at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17. “Seminole Attire: History and Culture Through Design” will be on display through Dec. 31 and features a history of the Seminole people plus handcrafted outfit and doll figures from a private collection.

Special guests at the reception will include members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Refreshments will be served. The Winter Garden Heritage Museum is at 1 N. Main St., Winter Garden. For information, call (407) 656-3244.

Community Editor Amy Quesinberry was born at the old West Orange Memorial Hospital and raised in Winter Garden. Aside from earning her journalism degree from the University of Georgia, she hasn’t strayed too far from her hometown and her three-mile bubble.
