City of Ocoee announces closures amid Hurricane Milton

With Hurricane Milton expected to impact West Orange County, the city of Ocoee announced office and park closures for Oct. 9-10.

Amid the impact from Hurricane Milton on West Orange County, the city of Ocoee has announced all city administrative offices, including city hall, and all parks and recreation facilities will be closed Oct. 9-10. 

The city plans on reopening its offices Oct. 11, pending the impact of Hurricane Milton.

There also will be no residential solid waste collection service in Ocoee from Oct. 9-10, with service planned to resume based on the following collection schedule:

Friday, Oct. 11

  • Recovery of Wednesday recyclables (blue week) and normal Friday pickup of yard waste and bulk items (regular household waste scheduled for Friday will be picked up on next Tuesday, Oct. 15).

Saturday, Oct. 12

  • Recovery of Thursday’s household waste and recovery of Wednesday’s yard waste and bulk items. 

Monday, Oct. 14

  • Regularly scheduled pickup resumes.
