The town of Windermere has adjusted its garbage collection schedule due to the incoming Hurricane Milton.

Waste Pro will operate on its regular schedule for solid waste pickup Tuesday, Oct. 8.

However, services will be suspended Wednesday, Oct. 9, and potentially Thursday, Oct. 10.

Additionally, yard waste collection will not occur Oct. 9.

To minimize potential damage from debris, the town is asking residents to  secure any loose items and ensure their property is clear of any materials that could become projectiles in strong winds.

"We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time," town representatives said.
