Following its landfall on Siesta Key on Florida’s Gulf Coast at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, Hurricane Milton lumbered northeast on its way across the Florida peninsula.
It arrived to Orange County as a Category 2 hurricane and barraged West Orange and Southwest Orange communities with wind and rain for most of the early-morning hours of Oct. 10.
Even after it moved offshore on the East Coast, Milton still was a Category 1 hurricane.
