Smoking Soul BBQ has announced its closure in the West Orange County area.

The food truck shared the news on its social media pages Friday, Oct. 11, noting the increased cost of doing business as the reasoning.

The business has grown over the last four years from a back-porch smoker scheduling pick-ups; to a 250-gallon, pull-behind smoker set up roadside on the weekends; to a completely custom, 32-foot full-kitchen trailer frequenting community festivals, local breweries and catering events across Central Florida.

The eatery's menu includes sandwiches, tacos and sides, such as fries, beans and corn salad.

"We're blessed and grateful for all the new friends and opportunities this adventure has given us and the memories that will stay with us forever," the owners, David and Jamie Betz, shared on Facebook.

The owners said they plan on keeping the big trailer for now for the occasional special event or Sunday pop-up in the future. They also are selling the food truck, as well as their new, smaller trailer.
