The town of Windermere is looking for volunteers to participate in storm clean up in the area's parks following Hurricane Milton.

The clean up will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 12.

Residents will meet on the back covered porch of Windermere Town Hall, which is located at 520 Main St.

Participants are asked to bring their own rake, gloves and sunscreen.

The town's new Parks and Recreation Department coordinator will meet attendees at Town Hall to provide locals with a map to the park to begin clearing, as well as provide garbage bags, vests and pinchers.

U.S. Rep. Carolina Amesty — who represents District 45, which includes Horizon West, Windermere and Winter Garden — will be in attendance to help.

There also will be food trucks, as well as coffee, beer and mimosas available for volunteers.
