Ocoee to waive building permit fees for hurricane storm damage repairs

For the next 90 days, building permit fees for hurricane storm damage repairs in the city of Ocoee will be waived following the impacts of Hurricane Milton.

As a response to Hurricane Milton's impacts on its residents and businesses, the Ocoee City Commission voted to waive building permit fees for hurricane storm damage repairs for the next 90 days, through Jan. 13.

Residents and businesses interested in getting their permit fees waived must still apply for a permit but indicate that the repair is related to storm damage. For more information, call the city’s development services department at (407) 905-3104 or visit ocoee.org.

Repairs that require a permit:

  • Roof Repairs exceeding 100 sq. ft.
  • Weather Related Electrical Repairs
  • Air conditioning Equipment
  • Meter Base Repair
  • Replacement of Exterior Siding
  • Window Replacement
  • Door Replacement
  • Drywall Replacement
  • Structural Repairs
  • Tree Removal

Repairs that do not need a permit:

  • Roof Repairs not exceeding 100 sq. ft.
  • Debris Removal
  • Tree Trimming
  • Placing a Tarp on a Roof
  • Rain Gutter replacement
  • Replacing Screening on Aluminum Structures
  • Repairs to exterior structures
  • Repairs to exterior soffit
