With nearly half of the West Orange and Southwest Orange County high school football games played on Oct. 24, the Friday night slate for Week 10 only has five games.

To get you set for the Oct. 25 games, Orange Observer Sports Editor Sam Albuquerque gives you a few notes from each matchup to watch out for.

Let's get into it.

Game of the Week: Ocoee (5-3) at West Orange (7-1)

The 20th edition of the Battle for the Shield makes its way to Raymond Screws Field as the Ocoee Knights make the short trip to face the Warriors of West Orange High.

With the Class 7A, District 5 crown being decided with the outcome of this game, you can expect the already intense rivalry to be even more heated.

For the home team, watch for the Warriors' offense to have a balanced approach behind their superb offensive line, led by senior center Nico Marti and do-it-all sophomore athlete Brian Dillard — who leads West Orange in passing, rushing and return yards, and is third on the team in receiving yards for a total of 1,533 yards gained through eight games.

Ocoee's stout defense, led by junior linebacker Michael McClenton and athlete Joshua Guerrier, will do all it can to slow down this West Orange attack. McClenton has been a force for a second year in a row for the Knights, racking up 182 total tackles, 41 TFLs and 17 sacks so far this season.

For the Knights' offense, look for running back Jamarian Robinson to lead the way; he's run for 1,059 yards and 13 touchdowns so far this season.

The Warriors' secondary will lead the way for their defense with Michigan commit Ivan Taylor and three-star athlete Devonte Anderson playing lights out this season.

Week 10

FRIDAY, OCT. 25
7 p.m. kickoff

Foundation Academy (3-4) vs. West Oaks Academy (2-5)

With a chance to finish its first season in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference with a .500 record, Foundation Academy will lean on its star running back Sam Wood to lead the offense, while two-way athlete Steven Grecco should both shut down the opposition's top wide receiver and make plays for the Lions' offense at wideout.

Lake Buena Vista (2-4) vs. East River (4-3)

The Vipers will lean on their senior playmaker, Erik Denico, to continue to force turnovers from the cornerback position, while running back James Yauger has been the key force in the LBV offense.

Legacy Charter (2-6) at Cedar Creek Christian (3-4)

Following a big Homecoming win last week, the Eagles will look to finish the regular season with another win, this time on the road. Legacy will lean on its defense to carry the team to victory, having allowed just 12 points combined in its two wins.

Windermere Prep (1-5) at Out-of-Door Academy (6-0)

In what is probably its toughest test of the season, Windermere Prep will travel to Sarasota to face the undefeated Thunder of Out-of-Door Academy. The Lakers will need to find a way to slow down Thunder junior Allen Clark, who has gained 1,131 total yards and scored 12 total TDs in six games.

7:30 p.m. kickoff

Central Florida Christian (3-5) at Seven Rivers Christian (4-5)

Coming off a short week, after playing a Monday night, Oct. 21, the CFCA Eagles will head an hour and one half northwest to face off against the Warriors of Seven Rivers Christian in their final regular season game of the season. Look for sophomore receiver Davy Murphy to make plays on the outside for a fun Eagles' passing attack.
