American Legion hosting Challenge 22 walk Saturday

The event includes music, food and a 2.2-mile walk to help raise funds to end veteran suicide.

American Legion Post 63 in downtown Winter Garden is holding its eighth annual Challenge 22 Walk to End Veteran Suicide Saturday, Nov. 2, at 271 W. Plant St. Check-in starts at 9 a.m., opening ceremonies are at 10, and the 2.2-mile walk begins at 11:15. Starting at 12:15 p.m., there will be a post-walk gathering with music, food and a raffle.

The nonprofit Challenge 22 Inc. was founded with the mission to end veteran suicide and has expanded to include active duty, first responders and family members still fighting the effects of PTS and suicidal ideation.
