West Orange Habitat for Humanity held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, Aug. 29, in Winter Garden for four new homes to be built in the Bouler Row community.

The newest affordable housing community, Bouler Row, was named after the Bouler family, which generously gave a partial donation of the entire piece of land on Center Street on which this community will be built.

When completed, the Habitat neighborhood will provide two three-bedroom, two-bath homes and two four-bedroom, two-bath homes for qualified families.

West Orange Habitat, working closely with the city of Winter Garden, is addressing the need for affordable housing in the community. This partnership provides the opportunity for low-income families to purchase their first home. Habitat oversees the construction of these single-family residences, using sustainable materials and environmentally friendly building and landscaping practices.

Major home sponsors are The Bond Foundation, Pilars Martini & Loft and Empire Finish Systems. Construction partners are Inside AOA, P&A Roofing, Allen & Co., Unroe Engineering, Maddox Electrical, Aggressive Appliances, VMG Construction, LQ Construction, Vue Windows, Home Run Pest Control, Energy Air, County Line Landscaping and Bloom & Grow Garden Society.

In addition to the existing partners and volunteers, West Orange Habitat seeks strategic relationships with other interested corporations, churches and community organizations to help expand its volunteer and material resources.

The organization has partnered with volunteers, donors and Habitat homeowners to build, renovate and repair more than 45 homes.
