The city of Winter Garden has released a series of updates for residents in preparation for hurricane Helene.

Winter Garden City Hall and city offices will be closed Sept. 26. The city expects to reopen Sept. 27 for normal operating hours.

The Winter Garden City Commission meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sept. 26 currently still is taking place. Any cancellation will be announced by the city the afternoon of Sept. 26.

For residents that normally have a Thursday solid waste collection services pickup, the regularly scheduled route will remain Sept. 26. This includes trash, recycling, yard waste and bulk items. Residents are urged to bring in their cans immediately following pickup. Routes only will be cancelled if sustained winds reach 45 mph.

The city has expanded its pre-filled sandbag pickup hours through 7 p.m. Sept. 26, as well as added from 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 27. Click here for more information on sandbags.
