OCPS schools will reopen tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 27

Based on current Hurricane Helene forecasts, district officials announced schools will reopen for classes tomorrow.

All Orange County Public Schools campuses will reopen for classes tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 27, following the Sept. 26 closure for Hurricane Helene.

According to district officials, the decision was made based on current Helene forecasts from the National Weather Service. Forecasts project winds will be significantly lower than the 35-mph threshold needed to operate school buses safely.

If there are significant changes to the forecast, this decision could change. Follow OCPS on X for updates.
