Legacy Charter football coach Zachary Fox has stepped down from his coaching position because of immediate familial needs and to pursue more opportunities to serve on international mission trips with his church.
"When looking back on the past three years, I can’t help but to have an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude to the whole Legacy family," Fox said. "On the field, we were able to accomplish some great things. But more importantly, the growth we have seen out of these young men has been unparalleled, I’m very thankful to all of them for their efforts as well as everyone else that has played a part in my time here and I’m excited to see what the Lord has in store for myself and the future of this program, I have always had a heart for missionary work and I am beyond excited to see where the Lord leads me”
Fox will remain in his role as the Eagles’ assistant athletic director and teacher at the school. A permanent replacement has yet to be named, but defensive coordinator Jed Ebersole will serve as the program’s interim coach.
This decision comes after Fox’s third season as a head coach, leading the Eagles to an incredible turnaround — going from a 1-6 start to finishing the season 5-6 and winning the Sunshine State Athletic Association Class 1A Championship.
