Edgewood Children’s Ranch to celebrate 59 years at Spring Picnic

Edgewood Children’s Ranch will celebrate its 59th year with an afternoon full of food and fun this weekend.

The ranch’s Spring Picnic will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the ranch, 1451 Edgewood Ranch Road, Orlando.

The event will start with a chili cook-off competition between each of ranch’s cottages. Guests will have a chance to taste each chili and vote for their favorite.

Following the competition, guests will enjoy catering by Ellie Lou’s BBQ. Everyone at the event will enjoy smoked brisket, chopped pork, baked beans, cole slaw, and more.

Children will enjoy bouncing in inflatable bounce houses and then chill out with a delicious slushie from the slushie truck.

The event also will feature a performance by the Edgewood Children's Ranch choir.

The Spring Picnic is a way for the ranch to honor its friends while raising funds to help continue its mission. John and Lois Arie and the Fun Spot America team have committed to matching each donation dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000.
