Windermere High School is opening its gymnasium for Pause with a Purpose, a community mental health day organized by Korin Browne, a WHS senior and a Girl Scout pursuing her Gold Award.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the school, 5523 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Windermere. More than 15 community partners have committed to setting up a booth.

“The award requires the Girl Scout to transform an idea and vision for change into an actionable plan with measurable, sustainable and far-reaching results,” Browne said. “My Gold Award project focuses on ending the stigmas surrounding mental health. I want people to be aware of the resources that are available to everyone.”

Her goal is to connect mental health resources with community members in need of them.

The event is free. For more information, visit @pausewithapurpose on Instagram.
