The Foundation for Orange County Public Schools has launched the "Take the $1 Pledge" to raise funds to support initiatives and programs.

The foundation launched the Give Education Day campaign Friday, Feb. 14.

The funds raised will support initiatives and programs focused on efforts such as literacy enrichment, access to STEM and the arts, professional development for teachers and school-based staff, college and career readiness efforts, scholarships, and development of key partnerships.

The campaign will run through Wednesday, March 5.

“Imagine the impact we can make in the lives of OCPS students with just a $1 investment," said Debi Pedraza, executive director of Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, in a news release. "In a school year, we could offer Read2Succeed in all 133 elementary schools, provide more than 100 scholarships to graduating seniors, open the door for 125 internships, stock our OCPS school-based food pantries with $1,000 worth of nutritious staples, or provide $2,000 Teacher Impact Grants to fund 100 classroom projects creating unique STEM or arts-focused experiences to enhance student learning. How extraordinary would it be if one person for each 207,000 students contributed $1?"
