Windermere High boys basketball star forward T.J. Drain has continued to add to his already sensational senior season by surpassing the 1,000 career points mark in a 67-25 Metro West Conference tournament quarterfinals win over Ocoee High Jan. 7.
"(I) cannot begin to explain how proud and happy I am for T.J. Drain," Windermere coach Mark Griseck said in a social media post. "I am so blessed to be able to coach such a remarkable young man. He is still only beginning to scratch the surface of his potential!"
After seeing limited playing time as a sophomore, the 6-foot-8 forward and Liberty signee made his presence known in 2023-24 — leading the Wolverines to a 20-9 record with team-high averages of 19.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game.
So far this season, Drain has continued to grow as a player and has led the Wolverines to a 15-3 record. Along with surpassing the milestone career mark, he also set the program's single-game scoring record in a 39-point performance earlier this season against rivals Olympia High.
