Orange County Public Schools to launch districtwide reading initiative

Starting with Literacy Week, the district is challenging students, staff, parents and education partners help the district read 20 million minutes by April 30.

Orange County Public Schools is kicking off Literacy Week Monday, Jan. 27, with a challenge. 

The school district is launching Let's Read, OCPS!, a districtwide initiative to read 20 million minutes by April 30. 

The district hopes the challenge will encourage students to read for enjoyment and develop a lifelong love of reading. 

Students, staff, parents and education partners are encouraged to participate by individually reading at least 500 minutes throughout the challenge.
