Theatre South Playhouse in Dr. Phillips announces the return of the comedy “Puffs.” Theatre South will present “Puffs” for eight shows from Jan. 31 through Feb. 9 with a professional cast.

“Puffs The Play,” by Matt Cox, a comedy set in an enchanting world of wizardry, where the unsung heroes take center stage. This inventive production offers a fresh and humorous perspective on a familiar magical adventure.

“For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain wizard school and conquered evil,” according to the theater. “This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs, who just happened to be there too.”

This fast-paced play follows three potential heroes just trying to survive a dangerous magic school. Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of well-meaning, loyal outsiders with a fondness for badgers. The characters are part of the heart-warming tale of finding one’s place in the world.

The show is directed by Nick Bublitz of the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre (“Puffs,” “Mean Girls Jr.”) with assistance from Rhyse Silvestro (“Ride the Cyclone,” “Matilda,” “Be More Chill”).

The cast includes local favorites, including Pat Clark, Blake Croft, Trevor Spence, Jena Rashid, Bryann Fleming, Mia Hammond, Woodrow Helms, Bennet Preuss, Lilly Scarlett, Abigail Santiago, Andres Procel and Allison Young.

The show will be presented Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at teachtix.com/tsplayhouse starting at $40 for general audiences, with a $10 discount for seniors and 20% discount for arts industry and theme park workers with proof of employment. For group bookings of 20 or more, call (407) 601-4380 or email [email protected].
