Orlando Health's Hospital Care at Home is the first program in the nation to receive the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

Orlando Health — Dr. Phillips Hospital is one of the hospitals in the Orlando Health system to offer the program, which provides acute hospital-level care in adult patients' residences.

The program has served more than 2,000 Orlando Health patients in Central Florida since it was launched in February 2023. It's available to patients who meet specific clinical criteria determined by emergency department and hospital staff.

In the U.S., Orlando Health is among 186 hospitals to receive Beacon Awards.

Award recipients "demonstrate effective systems for optimal patient care and positive, safe work environments," according to a news release.

“We are grateful to be the first hospital at home program recognized with the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, which acknowledges the dedication of our nursing team and our patients’ trust in this advanced healthcare model,” said Linda Fitzpatrick, assistant vice president for Orlando Health Hospital Care at Home, in a news release.
