For more than 25 years, Lift Disability Network has been dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families through a holistic, community-driven approach.

Offering inclusive camps, monthly gatherings, family services and recreational excursions, Lift creates a supportive environment where faith, hope and healing come together.

As part of its commitment to serving families facing unexpected adversity, Lift assumed operation of the Medical Equipment Bank in 2018, continuing a vital service originally coordinated by the Rotary Club of Winter Garden. This initiative provides medical equipment at no charge to those in need, ensuring that essential items such as crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, shower chairs and knee scooters remain accessible to the community.

The program relies on donations of new or gently used equipment, which are sanitized, stored and distributed to individuals on both a short- and long-term basis.

Now, thanks to an expanded partnership with Orlando Health, the equipment bank will reach even more individuals and families in need. Orlando Health’s discharge teams will assess patients who may face challenges due to insurance gaps or other barriers and connect them directly with Lift for medical equipment support. Once a request is made, Lift will prepare the necessary equipment for patient pickup — all at no cost.

“We are so grateful for this expansion with Orlando Health,” said Jim Hukill, Lift executive director. “The heart of Lift’s mission lies in a simple yet profound idea: To offer families

encouragement and compassion, especially during times of need or crisis. We are honored to serve our community and reach even more people with the partnership of Orlando Health.”

Lift welcomes donations of new and gently used medical equipment to help sustain this program.
