Dr. Phillips Little League is hosting a free umpire skills clinic for its Majors, Juniors and Senior Division Little League families, specifically designed to develop junior umpires and give players the opportunity to learn about umpiring and develop leadership skills, as well as a deeper understanding and appreciation of the game.

The clinic hopes to not only continue to develop a pipeline of passionate and knowledgeable junior umpires but also enhance each attendee’s understanding of the game from the unique perspective of an umpire.

Those who decide to attend can expect to participate in sessions led by experienced umpires who will train these Little Leaguers in decision-making, rule enforcement and game management during interactive exercises, which in turn will empower these young athletes with the confidence to learn new skills and roles.

The clinic will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 6, on the Julian Field at the new Dr. Phillips Little League Ballfield Complex, 10496 Bissell St., Orlando. Those interested should RSVP by March 30 by visiting bit.ly/4iCneZi
