Private companies have begun installing 10 miles of fiber optic lines throughout Oakland to enhance high-speed internet access for residents and businesses. The project is expected to be completed by May or June.

Crews will be working along roadways, sidewalks and utility easements. Temporary lane closures and minor disruptions might occur, but efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience, said town officials. Noise and equipment will be present during work hours, and any necessary access to private property will be communicated in advance.
