Many of the women in attendance took a trip to the 1920s with their outfits for the Windermere Garden Club’s Crazy Game Day.

Women of all ages gathered to play cards and games at the Windermere Garden Club’s Crazy Game Day.
The Windermere Garden Club hosted its Crazy Game Day, and, as usual, Peggy’s Traditional Chicken Salad was on the buffet luncheon menu.
The event was held Thursday, March 27, at the historic Windermere Town Hall and included lunch, games, a silent auction and door prize drawing. Guests dressed in 1920s garb to celebrate the town’s centennial and add to the festive atmosphere.
The Crazy Card Party originally was started by the late Peggy Colling and Dot Byrd. Colling was known for her delicious chicken salad, which she served at the club parties. After her death, club members worked to replicate the recipe.
The money raised goes toward scholarships. This year, four elementary students are attending Camp Wekiva, a high school student is attending SEEK, and four second-year horticulture students are attending Valencia College.
