A stifling defense helped boost Winter Park (2-0) to their second win of the season as the Wildcats pushed by Oviedo with ease on Friday, Aug. 31.
Outside of an early field goal in the first quarter and a touchdown late in the fourth, the Lions' (1-1) offense was made totally inert, while the Wildcats' offense found its stride both early and late in the game.
Led by quarterback Gino English and his multi-touchdown game, the Wildcats struck early with 14 points in the first quarter, a field goal in the third and 17 more points in the fourth to lead to the final of 34-10.
Up next for the Wildcats is a tough away game at Wekiva (1-1) on Friday, Aug. 7.
