Another Friday night, another dominating win for Winter Park as the Wildcats (5-1, 2-0) continued their win streak in a 34-2 win over Timber Creek (1-5, 0-1).
Despite the offense starting the night off a bit sluggish — and no Gino English for the second straight week — the Wildcats still managed to put up over 30 points for the fifth time in their six games on the year.
The offensive explosion was mostly thanks to wide receiver Marcus Clarke and running back Tyrone Davis. Clarke picked up two touchdowns and 59 yards on four passes, while Davis racked up a touchdown and 102 total yards — 66 of which came on the ground on eight carries.
But the real story of the night was the Wildcats’ defense, who didn’t allow a single point for the third game in-a-row — the only score came on a safety in the second quarter. Right now, the Wildcats have held opponents to just 44 points, while putting up 220 themselves.
The Wildcats will look to continue their winning ways in a home matchup against Olympia (2-4, 2-0) on Friday, Oct. 5.
